Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Had lunch upstairs. Lunch itself was good. The waitress was no nonsense in a very new England type of way. She let me know she was the boss, and I kinda liked it. Clam chowder so thick you could eat with a fork. But the DESSERTS! mile high apple pie. With 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream. If that doesn't make you happy then I don't know what will."
"My husband and I decided to try this place out yesterday . The food we ordered is so simple yet surprisingly so good!. Our waitress Broke that served us is kind. This place only accepts cash!, if you didn’t bring cash there is an ATM machine inside. Also, the ice cream is the best we ever tried!."
"A must visit place! We met the owners son (Ben) at their farmstand, he was very friendly and recommended we visit the restaurant. The next morning we showed up and had an amazing breakfast. You could taste the freshness in the food. I had the apple omlette, very delicious! It had maple sausage and Vermont cheddar! The cheese was the type of cheese you want on an omlette! I also had it with the rye bread they make on Burlington with the raspberry jam, sooo damn good. My husband had pancakes. I had a bit of his pancakes and omg they were both fluffy and nice and crispy and buttery on the outside! It filled us to the point it held us for our 7 mile hike lol A good country town vibe i loved it! Will definitely be visiting next time!"
"A must stop for breakfast if you are in the area. Homey vibe, great food, and friendly service. Haven’t tried the lunch yet but the menu looks great. Breakfast and lunch menus both include vegetarian options. I can’t wait to come back to try the pie and ice cream!"
"10/20/25 - It seems the business changed ownership and now offers only grab and go with a more limited menu and only limited outdoor seating. We came for the VerMonte Christo we saw in an old photo, which is no longer offered. However, the home made ice cream was some of the best I've had period, and the Reuben was fantastic. Since it is right next to the road there is a lot of noise from cars driving by while eating."
"My husband and I along with my borherinlaw and girlfriend stayed at the Sleep Motel which is right next door to this little gem. We had salted caramel ice cream one evening which is made in house. And was probably one of the best ice creams I've ever had. Definitely a must try. Then on the day of our departure we had breakfast sandwiches on hand made croissants which were huge. I had the ham and eggs with havarti and pepper jelly!! The ham is cured in house it was amazing as well. Love these kinds of places that take pride in all of the food they serve. If your in this area please give it a try you won't be disappointed!!"
"Such a wonderful place to have next to our motel stay. Great breakfast food daily (get yourself a pistachio affogato and a ham sandwich…pepper jelly is . Service every day was filled with joy and happiness to start the day. Couldn’t ask for a better spot to get some food and coffee!"
"NEW OWNERS! Same delicious mile high apple pie Super clean and bright! The coffee was outstanding! I could smell the sandwiches from 20ft away, so tasty. This place is way better than ever! Highly recommended!"
